Ways to Volunteer

We believe camp can be a life-changing moment, not just for the kids who attend, but for everyone who serves. Let’s make this summer unforgettable—together!

FAQ

In the past, VFKids Camp has been one big camp where all four campuses gathered together, and we’ve loved that. But God has blessed us with incredible growth. Last year alone, we welcomed over 1,000 campers, and we’ve simply outgrown the space. To continue providing a safe, fun, and meaningful camp experience, VFKids Camp will be hosted by campus this year.

  • Norman and Chickasha will attend camp together at the Norman campus on June 2–4, 2026

  • Newcastle will host camp at the Newcastle campus on June 9–11, 2026

  • Shawnee will host camp at the Shawnee campus on June 9-11,2026

Hosting camp at individual campuses allows us to better serve families and kids. Campuses get to host something special right in their own community, kids are in a familiar building and environment, and families don’t have to worry about early-morning busing to Norman. It also creates a great opportunity for outreach by inviting friends and neighbors to a camp close to home. Smaller numbers at each campus mean smoother transitions, safer rotations, and a more personal connection with leaders. Kids will be in a space they already know, with leaders from their campus who know them well. This helps kids feel comfortable, confident, and ready to engage.

This was a thoughtful and prayerful decision. Elementary-aged kids are developmentally ready for longer rotations, larger group games, and a full camp schedule. Pre-K campers often require more one-on-one care, shorter activity times, and different pacing, which can be challenging in a camp-style environment. By focusing on K–5th grade, we can create the best possible experience for the kids attending while keeping them safe, engaged, and cared for. It also allows us to use our campus spaces more effectively, since each campus can only accommodate a certain number of kids during rotations.

We’re excited to offer volunteer childcare for ages 0–5 years old during VFKids Camp. If you are serving at camp and have children who are 5 years old and younger, there will be a safe, designated place for them to be cared for while you serve.

Absolutely! VFKids Camp is all about helping kids know Jesus and grow in their relationship with Him. Kids will experience high-energy worship, engaging Bible teaching, meaningful small groups, and tons of fun. Everything we do is designed to help kids understand who Jesus is, how much He loves them, and what it looks like to follow Him in their everyday lives. While the format and location may look a little different, the heart of VFKids Camp remains exactly the same.

Camp is $30 with our early-bird price. On May 17th, the price will increase to $35.

Camp runs from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Drop-off starts at 8:15 a.m.

When you arrive at your specific campus, there will be check-in stations with volunteers ready to help you check your child(ren) in! Each child will have a name tag to wear at all times. There will also be a parent tag that you have to pick up your child(ren). We cannot let you pick up your child without the matching tag to your child’s name tag. It’s best to take a picture of your tag just in case you lose it.

We will have reprint stations available to print a new tag. We will just need to see your proof of I.D.

Take a picture of your parent tag and send it to the person responsible for picking up your child. They will be able to show the tag picture to show proof.

We have a medical form you will need to fill out and drop off with your child at the first aid station!

Due to food allergies, we don’t allow outside snacks. We have snacks available for our campers and allergy-friendly options as well. We have water stations available all over campus for our campers!

We have early pick-up forms available. It will make the process go much more smoothly if you can fill out this form when you drop off in the morning.

There is an option when registering to put a buddy’s name. The requested friend needs to be the same age and gender as your child, and it’s not a guarantee they will be together.

Camp shirts won’t be available right when registration opens this year, but they’re on the way! Once you’ve registered your child, we’ll send you a text as soon as the shirts are ready for pickup at your selected campus. We’ll make sure you have plenty of time to pick one up before camp starts!

Sunday, May 31st at 11:59 p.m. for the Norman/Chickasha camp.

Sunday, June 7th at 11:59 p.m. for the Shawnee and Newcastle camp.
