The Norman campus is preparing for three major upgrades to better serve the church and community. Plans include expanding the auditorium to seat 2,800–3,000 people for 2–3 services, enlarging the lobby to create a more welcoming space for connection, and redesigning kids’ and adult ministry areas to support a future capacity of 1,289. These improvements will enhance both the experience and capacity for ministry and growth.

The Newcastle campus is preparing for exciting facility upgrades to support growth and ministry impact. Plans include expanding the auditorium to a 500-seat space for 2–3 services, enhancing both experience and capacity; enlarging the lobby and gathering areas with an additional 8,650 square feet plus outdoor space for connection and next steps in faith; and redesigning kids’ ministry spaces to better serve growing kids’ and adult ministries. These improvements will create more room for community, worship, and discipleship.

The Shawnee campus is planning key upgrades to improve accessibility and community connection. Phase 1 will expand parking by adding 116 new spots to the current 99, reducing reliance on temporary overflow areas and making room for more people to join what God is building. Phase 2 will renovate the outdoor space, transforming the underused backyard into a spacious, welcoming area that connects to the parking lot and encourages meaningful connections without feeling rushed—because every spot and every space represents a story of faith yet to be told.

Our primary goal and desire is for everyone who calls VFC in Chickasha their home to prayerfully consider how God may be leading them to trust him deeper in terms of their personal financial generosity.

Right now, the reality is that only a small percentage of our church family is carrying most of the financial weight of ministry. If we’re going to reach more people, serve our city in greater ways, and expand the ministries God has entrusted to us, we need every person to take a step — whether that’s giving for the first time, beginning to tithe, or giving above and beyond.

Here’s what we’re believing for:
Reaching our neighbors: Increase local outreach to 4%
Global Missions: Increase Global missions giving to 3%
Church Development: Fund ministry expansion, future staff, and long-term growth

BREAKING GROUND

ROUGHLY 6 MONTHS AFTER WE REACH THE GOAL AMOUNT PLEDGED THROUGH COMMITMENT CARDS, WE PLAN TO BREAK GROUND TOWARDS THE NEW FACILITIES.

FAQ (Norman & Newcastle)

We’re committed to financial integrity and transparency. If the full amount isn’t raised, we’ll work with our builder and architect to explore what’s possible within the funds we do receive. Additionally, we’ll seek God for direction and reimagine how to move forward with what He provides.

That’s a fair question — and one we’ve given a lot of thought to. While adding services can help in some ways, the reality is that most people naturally gravitate toward a few key service times. No matter how many additional service options we offer, those tend to stay the most crowded. That’s why we believe the most effective solution is to create more space during the services people are already choosing. A larger auditorium will help us make room for more people when they’re most likely to come.

We plan to borrow for this project. However, we hold a firm line on responsible borrowing. There is a set threshold we won’t exceed, because we never want debt to hinder ministry. Any debt we do take on will be measured, wise, and within boundaries that protect our church’s future.

We are planning a phased approach for smaller items—like furniture and office planning areas—but for the main building project, there are three significant phases:
The expansion to our Sunday services and lobby to accommodate more people.
Waiting to build major pieces until we fully fund the project, avoiding unnecessary debt.
The consideration of adding more classrooms or ministry space as God provides and we see the wisest path forward.

We believe in giving our best to the next generation. That’s why kids, youth, and their families will be part of this journey from start to finish.
Kids and youth will have space and opportunity to dream big, develop their gifts, and influence their communities. Every space is designed to help them make friends and hear stories that make their story too.

Not at all! While some may choose to give their full commitment up front, most people will give monthly or quarterly over three years.
Since the Stories Campaign is a 3-year journey, every gift—large or small—matters. We believe generosity will be stretched, new levels reached, and lives changed. Never feel pressured—our hope is you pray and follow God’s leading.

You can begin giving at any time! That said, Vision Offering Sunday is October 5th, and we’re encouraging everyone to make their first contribution toward their 3-year commitment on that day. After that, you can set up recurring gifts or give as you’re able throughout the Stories Campaign journey.
